ART & PEOPLE
front THE SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA / 19TH OCTOBER 2016

Two weeks ago my parents and I visited my brother in Australia!

Eventhough we mainly travelled along the coast and saw lots of nature, animals, ocean and surfwaves, I had to write a blogpost about the most iconic piece of art in Australia, the Sydney Opera House.

Via a sunny harbour lunch cruise and a rushed guided tour in German I will show & tell you all about it.

Last weekend I posted about my Palace Noordeinde tour in The Hague in July.

But July is already months away and since summer finally comes around in September this year, I planned another sunny palace visit with my favourite Arthistorian Emma!

'Paleis het Loo' as the Dutch name goes, is showcasing blue Delftware vases in their dreamy garden.

The perfect occasion for us to dress up and pop over to Apeldoorn.

The working palace of our king Willem-Alexander in The Hague, Palace Noordeinde, would be opened to the public for only four Saturdays in July and August.

Of course we had to see all that beauty and splendour!

My friend stalked their website all day long and finally got us 3 tickets.

GALLERY OF HONOUR & THE FINAL HOUR AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS / 27TH AUGUST 2016 front

Last weekend I visited Amsterdam for a stroll through the Rijksmuseum, a bit more strolling (not so much buying) along the PC Hooftstraat and dinner with a good friend.

I still had to go meet Rembrandt's Marten and Oopjen in the Gallery of Honour for the first time!

What to do when you want to go meet the new, ultimate highlights of the museum and you want to have them to yourself as much as possible?

Go in at the final visiting hour (16-17h) and especially save your Gallery of Honour visit for the last 30 minutes or so.

KINGSDAY & A CITY PALACE VISIT PARIS, FRANCE / 09 MAY 2016 front

April 27th is the day of birth of our Dutch king! My friend and I decided to celebrate a little Dutch party in Paris by wearing some orange, it's tradition in the Netherlands, and visiting this palace like beauty of a museum, Musee Carnavalet.

Sort of hidden and slightly less known than the Louvre or d'Orsay you can find Carnavalet in one of my favourite neighbourhoods, le Marais.
